Glee’s New Kid on the Block

Molly Shannon joins the cast of Glee in a recurring role as McKinley High’s new astronomy teacher, badminton coach, and, most importantly, Sue Sylvester’s wise-cracking nemesis.

I hate to admit that I’m a Gleek. (What would the New Design have been without one Asian kid?) Here’s hoping Shannon is as funny as Kirsten Wiig in yukking it up.

And here’s one of those scenes that has enshrined Glee in the parlance of every kid who’s ever done musical theater (I was half-expecting the New Orleans Saints to break out into this Beyonce number last Sunday). This number never ceases to make me smile:

The New Design would have been NOWHERE without the one Asian kid! He couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket, but he had definite flair, especially when paired with the chubby white girl with the orange hair! 😉
